Each week during our Small Business Shoutout series we're featuring a local small business that is run by one of our awesome dance families. We're excited to announce that this week's shoutout goes to Old Mountain Rd!

Old Mountain Rd is your go-to place for custom furniture and artwork. The owner, Mollie McClure, does everything including sketching, sourcing, prepping, crafting and finishing... and the results are STUNNING! The piece she creates are truly one-of-a-kind and last throughout generations.

"Even in this era of technology and automation, there still exists a deep appreciation for the value of manual skills, for craftsmanship and handmade structures. I meet people regularly who share and vocalize this support.

Sometimes they become clients, sometimes they become friends, and sometimes both.

The slow and deliberate process of making a piece of my furniture or framed photograph - from concept to wood selection, to construction - provides me with a deep feeling of connection to the earth, to our ancestors, to one another.

Basically, creating something from scratch is profoundly gratifying. And I hold as a special honor the collaboration with you to make something that will last generations.

Everything is done with intention and purpose. In my shop, form follows function, pieces are built to last, there are no shortcuts because the journey is the point and is much more fun.
