As we begin Winter Break and prepare for a new year, I can’t help but feel so much gratitude for how this family at Momentum Dance Center has continued to show up this year. So, all I can say is thank you…
Thank you for your patience as we had an unexpected “early Spring Break” in March, which turned into months of being away from the studio.
Thank you for your flexibility as we quickly transitioned to an entirely new platform...virtual classes!
Thank you for your belief in me and the entire team that we would figure it out when it came to teaching through a computer.
Thank you for your words of encouragement which came often via social media, phone calls or emails. You have no idea how impactful these small acts were and how much energy they gave us during the shutdown.
Thank you for your honest feedback when we desperately wanted to know “What’s working well for your child? What’s not? What can we do better?”
Thank you for your thoughtful gestures which arrived as surprise cards, messages and decorations left on the studio doors.
Thank you for your grace as we tried and failed on many occasions (especially when it came to figuring out technology!), and which allowed us the opportunity to get back up and try again.
Thank you for your reinforcement in ensuring that your kids kept showing up for virtual classes even when Zoom fatigue was in full effect, (and therefore showing them that yes, they can do hard things!)
Thank you for your trust as we transitioned back into the studio in an entirely new way: with masks, temperature checks, physical distancing, no waiting in the lobby, etc.
Thank you for your glee and for sharing in the celebration as even during this crazy year we were recognized multiple times including receiving the awards of "Best Dance Studio of 2020" and "Best Virtual Pivot."
Thank you for your support as we pivoted and pivoted and pivoted again to keep up with the ever-changing environment of operating as a small business during this chaotic year.
Lastly, thank you for your presence. During a year where so much has been lost (like quality time with others, celebrations, and important milestones) the way you all have continued to show up to be a part of Momentum has truly been a light during such a dark year.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for showing up and showing out for MDC as you always do! The staff and I appreciate you, and we look forward to the brighter days ahead. From all of us at Momentum Dance Center, we’re wishing you and your family a wonderful winter break, and we look forward to seeing you in 2021!
