Did you here? We're going virtual! Check out FAQs below.

When is my child's class?
Beginning Monday, March 30, we will be resuming our normal class schedule. This means that, for example, if your child usually has Tap with Mr. J.T. at 5PM on Tuesdays, then that is when your child's virtual class time is.
How do I access my child's virtual class?
  1. Log into your parent portal here on the day & time of the class.
  2. Look for "Live Stream" under the name of the class.
  3. You will then be taken to a "waiting room" where you should remain until the teacher "admits" you to the class. (This extra step is in place for security purposes.)
  4. Important** Make sure you grant permission for the audio & video to be accessed on your device (i.e. phone, tablet, etc.), so that we can see & hear your child and vice versa.

Do I need a Zoom account?

No. You do not need a zoom account to access classes, although you can create one for free at anytime by clicking
here. Please be aware, it may take longer than expected to create and verify a new account since Zoom is overwhelmed with new clients at the current time.

Can I access the live stream at anytime?

No. Since all classes are live streamed (not pre-recorded), you will not be able to view/ access the live stream before the teacher begins the class. So please be aware that if you're trying to log on to view the class before the actual class time, you will be unable to do so.

Does my child need to be in dress code?

Yes, we are asking that all students attend their classes in proper dress code. This will be helpful in adding a sense of normalcy to students' routine. Additionally, I always say "If you look like a professional, you dance like a professional." This aspect of dance teaches students discipline, and all in all, students are going to carry themselves differently when dressed in the appropriate attire for class.

What if my child has back-to-back classes? Do I need to change between live streams?

Yes. If your child takes 2 consecutive classes, please be aware that between the 2 classes you will need to exit the first class on zoom, and return to the parent portal to access the live stream for the next class. This is why I recommend bookmarking your parent portal page for quicker access.

How does this work if I have 2 children who have different classes at the same time?

If this is the case for your family, you will need to have 2 devices, so that each child can access the appropriate class at the designated class time.

Can I re-watch live streams?

Yes! We are in the process of finalizing the Virtual Archives page of our website, which will be accessible for all students and parents and will include recordings of every live stream plus access to Spring Gala choreography videos and music files. (More info TBA) We hope you'll make the most of this new resource and find it helpful in keeping students engaged in-between weekly classes.

Is there anything else I should know?

Please know that although this virtual class system will be a very different experience for students, the faculty and I are committed to making the most of this new normal. As this situation continues into the coming weeks (and likely months), the faculty and I strongly believe that dance will be more important than ever in giving students an outlet and helping them maintain their overall well-being.

There is sure to be a learning curve for all parties when transitioning to this new virtual class system, so I want to thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we navigate this together. With that said, please know that your feedback is always appreciated, so don't hesitate to reach out to me with comments and concerns.

Lastly, I want to personally thank you for your continued support of Momentum during this time. Your patronage means the world to the faculty and me and is not something we take lightly. We are truly grateful!

Best Regards,
